I to test the ' AA Lagrein DOC Reserve 2008 (100% Lagrein, 12 months of barrique)
ruby-red color intense and bright. The nose opens with straightforward flavors of wild berries, juniper berries, chocolate, musk and a hint of cinnamon. Flavour: soft, then reveals a lovely freshness, sweet tannins and pleasant persistence.
Perfect on a polenta with pork ribs.
Less exciting Merlot DOC instead The Lot 2008. The nose is perceived a distinct feeling then happen alcoholic aromas of red berries and vanilla. Tasting is fairly compact, firm and soft round tannins. We note, however, a distinct feeling of vanilla from the barrel which I think has a little 'flat wine. In the end, after all, the mouth is bitter.
Lagrein Reserve definitely better, no doubt.
